Joan Klasson's Page.

Greetings all! My art theme for this school year promises to be fun, creative and challenging..We will GO GREEN! All art projects will be made to or from recycled reduced or reused products. We will try to produce, almost no trash in the art room (not a small task) Students will be encourage to recycle paper (all kinds) cardboard, paper towel and toilet paper rolls, newspaper, wood scraps, plastic bags, cans, plastice bottles and batteries. We are even working with a program to recycle: cell phones, Ink jet printer cartridges, DVD movies& video games, portable DVD players, laptop computers, MP3 players, Xbox and Sony playstatons, digital camers, digital picture frames (all can be damaged) for $$$ for Eanes elementary. The students will even be making alot of their own paper and using that in projects! As you can imagine, this is quite an undertaking and will require some help from you...If you have any old, WORKING, blenders, we need them in the art room for paper making. I also need you! Especially in the beginning of the school year, I need parents to help make portfolios for all of my students to keep their artwork in so the projects remain suitable for exhibition throughout the year. The kids in my art room have all been deputized as members of the GREEN POSSE ready to help the earth. Drop by any time to see what we are up to. Thanks for all you support... Joan Klasson

Skecth Pads
Hi Folks... Please remeber that everyone who comes to art at Eanes Elemntary (which is everyone) needs to have a sketch pad in the art room.  If you don't have one, they can be purchased up in the front office for $5.00.  The Sketch  pads are so helpful to have because they are a way to keep your wonderful drawings and inventions bound together instead of having bunches of paper everywhere.  It is also a way to help the earth, by using less paper and thereby cutting  down less trees!  Please get a sketch pad..Thanks Ms. klasson

Art room needs stuff!
Greetings folks,

the art room is, once again, collecting all kinds of strange stuff!  We need scrap yarn, empty toilet paper rolls, empty paper towel rolls, paper grocery sack, Styrafoam& cleaned plastic water bottles.  We also recycle plastic bags and  batteries.  Please just drop these items in the hallway of the art building (they don't have to be given directly to me) I'll take care of them.  Thanks Ms. Klasson
